Patrick and I had the opportunity to get away by ourselves this past weekend for our birthdays/anniversary. Anna and Jack stayed with mom and Alec stayed with Kenny and Nancy. We missed them way more than they missed us! Kenny and Nancy did a wonderful job with Alec, they even managed to get him to sleep through the night for the first time in 7 months. They haven't disclosed what they used or how they did it. Ha Ha! We had a wonderful time together and we really appreciate mom and Kenny and Nancy for keeping the kids and keeping them in one piece! Thank you! We went to Charleston and toured our old stomping grounds, it was very nostalgic. We always have a great time when we go down there. The weather was beautiful! Next vacation: June '07

When you go out into the world, watch out for traffic, hold hands, and stick together.
Wonder.
Remember the little seed in the Styrofoam cup: the roots go down and the plant goes up and nobody really knows how or why, but we are all like that.
Goldfish and hamsters and white mice and even the little seed in the Styrofoam cup - they all die. So do we.
And then remember the Dick-and-Jane books and the first word you learned - the biggest word of all - LOOK.

We enjoyed keeping Alec. He is the sweetest baby in the world! If I knew we could have one just like him, I'd have one tomorrow. However, since that is no guarantee, guess we'll just wait a few more years. As far as him sleeping through the night, I'll never reveal my secret!! Just kidding. I'm glad you and Patrick were able to get away and have some adult time. You definitely needed it. We'll keep the kids for you anytime. Just remember, you'll be returning the favor sometime!
